I'm Gonna Track That!

It snowed just enough to leave a layer of white. Two days later I walked back to my parked car after work. Look at those tracks...like someone glued miniature marshmallows to the bottom of their boots. The only other tracks looked like a big dog and a big man with burly boots.
The intricate and unusual design was fascinating to look at. I was walking in the opposite direction of the footsteps so I decided maybe I could find where they originated. Further, further, further until...they stopped at my car!
Those fun footprints were mine! (When I went to work that day, and yes, they were new shoes.)
I almost smacked myself up the side of my head. "Interesting, isn't it?" God asked me.
"Yes, I love the imprint," I answered.
"Yes, but I mean something else. Look at the imprint you leave on the world, but you don't recognize it," answered God. "Where else do you leave your imprint?"
God was right. My snow prints would melt, but where did I make a difference in the world? I am taking inventory of my actions in a new way at the store, the job, home, church, picking up the mail, driving around big trucks parked on the street, sweeping water out of my garage...everything.
I want a better imprint on the world. God, help me please to be the example you want me to be.
